Oct 14th "engine disassembly"

These were the First stages of disassembly. Where we brought the engine over to our working area and starting taking the head off. These are beforew we got the pistons out and started taking to crankshaft out. We found that there was heat on the connecting rod that may have caused the blowout of the bearing. We cleaned all the parts that were in the bottom of the pan to see if there was heat or anything else of significants. Im learning that nothing can be overlooked when doing failure analysis. Its not just about finding the part and replacing it! Alright if you just do that then it may happen again and wont you feel stupid! Find the problem Problem solve dont be a parts thrower. I really like doing this kind of diagnosing becuase its challenging and always interesting.
We took off all the other connecting rods and found no heat and are trying to figure out if maybe the oil flow had a probelm and let the bearing get too hot.
I am all done at Farmers EQ. company.  I am moving onto scholtens equipment.
