April 29th "Work At Home"

These week at work i learned abou assembly of new parts. Being very careful is important when things can be fragile and nu dont do preventative need to be kept clean. In school we started learning about air brakes and alot about what can happen to them if you dont do preventative. So the main thing i have been pulling from the last week or so is maintaning what you have be it new or old. With the time away from school i worked on my car to clock some time. I set the rocker arms and adjusted the air/fuel mixture the best i could and the idle. now i can say my old 71' wont die at every stop sign.

April 22nd "little things"

Sometimes its just the little things left to pickup on. for me i really feel like iunderstand  pretty well general electrical systems. at least cicuit boards :/ .  But on my test i didnt know what there was a "dead post" so i learned what that was. i also saw that there was a small draw when i turned the key on in the truck.  At work i learned to always check if somethings works before you let the customer take it...  I thought i knew electrical well but after the large boards we did im excited to dicuss the results.

April 15th "oem test sheet"

This week we went more into the circuit boards and I was trying especially hard to figure out the shorts to make sure i understood how they worked. I think i have the short figured out and the open and high resistance have come pretty easily other than a few mix ups. But now comes the interesting times when we start adding relays and outher components to complicate the boards and make them more like working on a machine. The learning about how relays work was cool. before i just thought oh cool it lets the big power through with a small amperage switch. But them when we got to see the inside and see how it really operated and what can go wrong with them it was very ineresting. I think the hardest part coming up will be dealing with multipl line circuits where there are more places to test and more places to get lost. The OEM sheet i need to do a test today on my car and another at least early this week. And i need to keep in mind that this test is to save time to get the most electrical information quickly. so if you cant do a test or can get to something skip it but remember at the end when viewing results that anything you missed can be the problem.

April 7th "back at school"

Starting back at school learning so electrical technical! I am just now learning the basics ohms voltage and amps. I tested out the first 16 boards and i think i have the basics down pat. and reading all about electrical schematics.
