March 19th "Hours"

Its been a long road or kinda short in my eyes but the first internship is over and its just about time to go back to school. Recently i have gotten to jump on with other mechanics with big projects to get an idea of how to do things and step to do them and alot of the easily forgotten things like tagging stuff as you take it off and ways to remember stuff. its been great and i have learned more then i thought i could in the time i was there. The sprayer project is almost done. today i buttoned it up and got rid of all the leaks and made sure the nozzles worked.

Hours total as of 3/19/12    325 hours

March 15th "nearing the end"

Well the internship is coming to an end and has flown by. I have learned alot and gotten a few of my own projects in the past few weeks. Lately ive been working on a little john deere sprayer. The concept behind me doing this was learning about plumbing. But not only that but somehow at the same time learing hydralics and elctrical. They all have to flow they have filters and bypass' and can be learned through each other. I have learned about how to do simple things properly like just removing parts from a tractor the right way and helping speed up my time. Fabbing has been really fun learning about the welders and cutters. just learning so much from talking to people and asking questions like why not weld straight across a tube? or how does that work? get me more than i can chew sometimes. all in all i think i have takin a great leap into the feild and cant wait to dig into my first tractor project of my own!

March 1st " busy busy'

I have gotten to work full time this week and last week as well except for the holiday. I am still learning how to do rolling torque on bearings. today i got to cut u-joints out of a drive line and tomorrow hopefully start putting it back together. Im doing alot of small fab work to help out the other mechanics like making one inch spacers for a big projects on the rear end of a tractor. or the brackets i put pictures of up to hold the oil radiators on with. But in the process im learning so much valuable information from the guys im working with and everyday im learning how to use a new tool or an old tool differently. all in all you can tell im absorbed in what im doing by lack of posting on my blog. Just feeling like im really out there in my career.
My total hours accumulated in Jan and Feb are 209.6
